Kent-based WGU Washington recently announced it has extended the application deadline for its WGU Women in Leadership Scholarship to March 31.

The scholarship, which awards recipients with up to $2,000 toward their education, aims to encourage women to pursue the skills they need in order to advance their careers and make a positive impact in their communities.

“With my education, I’m able to participate more intelligently in my role as a city councilmember,” said Dana Ralph, a WGU Washington graduate and member of the Kent City Council. “I can make more informed and intelligent choices as a business owner and elected official — as well as a working mom and community volunteer.”

New and enrolling students interested in the scholarship can apply online by explaining their plan for becoming a better leader and how a bachelor’s or master’s degree from WGU Washington will help them reach their goals.
