Washington’s beach town enjoyed record-breaking home sales and vacation rental rates this summer
Seabrook, a picturesque beach town on Washington’s southwestern coast, is booming. This August, the small and modern community enjoyed a record-breaking $13 million in home sales and a 19.5 percent increase in rental revenue, making it the most successful month for cottage rentals since the town’s founding in 2004.
“When we built Seabrook from scratch 13 years ago, we sought to create a friendly, walkable Washington state beach town combining resort amenities with a community feel,” founder Casey Roloff said in a press release. “Seabrook’s incredible sales momentum this summer and its most successful month of vacation rental occupancy confirms our vision continues to resonate with year-round visitors and homeowners alike.”
Home buyers, as well as vacationers, tend to come from Seattle, Bellevue, and out of state. Attracting them is Seabrook’s unique approach to the rental market: vacation cottages are not only high-quality, private, and professionally managed; they also include the luxuries of a resort experience while offering easy access to locally owned shops and restaurants. Built along a mile and of half of preserved oceanfront and providing a cozy, eco-friendly atmosphere, it’s no wonder vacationers find themselves eagerly eyeing properties for sale.
To accommodate more potential home buyers, Seabrook — currently comprised of 335 privately owned homes — is in the process of expanding to about 1,000 single-family homes and units. Also growing is the Town Center, which increasingly welcomes new retailers to cater to the quickly rising population.
