Bellevue-based RedCloud Consulting announced on Tuesday that it will merge with consulting firm AK Group in an effort to accelerate company growth and diversify the firm’s services.

“Over the last decade The AK Group has built a solid legacy that matches our approach for how we want to grow RedCloud, so we’re very optimistic (about) the future,” Brett Alston, managing partner of RedCloud, said in a statement. “This move creates a core of highly experienced professionals we will utilize to expand our client service offerings and provide new job opportunities.”

RedCloud was founded in 1995 and relaunched its focus on management consulting this past year. The firm’s merger with AK Group and its plan to aggressively hire senior-level consultants puts it on track to be one of the fastest growing Seattle-area companies in the next year.

In July, RedCloud named Alston managing partner and Scott Eckman practice director. Kam Kiani joined the firm in October as practice director.

AK Group was formed in 2001. It offers consulting services in strategic planning, finance, sales and marketing, business development, and legal management.

“We were driven to bring our businesses together to capitalize on future growth opportunities and because we share a vision for how consulting firms should operate in today’s market,” Ali Spain, partner at the AK Group, said in a statement. “We look forward to integrating our team into RedCloud to provide honest, high-quality work to our clients.”
