The Office of Secretary of State and Washington Nonprofits have renewed their partnership to help the state’s 53,300 nonprofits successfully operate their organization, ensure compliance, and fight fraud.
In 2019, the Legislature increased the program’s funding level to allow for more contracted training for charitable and nonprofit organizations. The Nonprofit Training Program will provide education to organizations of all sizes, leveraging partnerships and technology. It will aim reach nonprofits across Washington state and empower them with a broader set of resources.
The Nonprofit Training Program brings together a broad set of partners providing content expertise and regional connections. The program supports nonprofit networks in six regions of Washington, including in the counties of King, Clark, Clallam, Yakima, Benton, and Spokane.
“Ultimately our goal is to make sure that nonprofits have what they need to succeed,” stated Nancy Bacon, Washington Nonprofits associate director. “There is a lot of nonprofit expertise in Washington. We just need to make sure that all nonprofits have access to it.”
