The Northwest Multiple Listing Service board of directors elected Bellevue native Robert Wasser, who is a branch manager for the Bellevue South office of Windermere Real Estate/East, as its new chairman.
Wasser’s real estate career began when he was just a college student who obtained his first investment property in the early days of his education. During his junior year at the University of Washington, he obtained his real estate license to fully pursue a career in real estate.
In 2005, Wasser graduated from the Michael G. Foster School of Business and, soon after, opened Prospera Real Estate. He operated Prospera until 2018 when he moved into his current role at Windermere.
Along with a seasoned career in real estate, Wasser also brings a few other experiences to the board. He has been involved with the NWMLS and other organizations within the industry for multiple years, and has served as the president of the Northwest Independent Brokers Association from 2013-18.
In 2016 he was elected to his first term on the NWMLS board, then moved onto serve as secretary in 2017, followed by treasurer in 2018. Last year, he served as the vice-chairman.
Along with the addition of Wasser, Randall Fischer has taken on the role of vice-chairman, Stuart Heath has stepped into the role of treasurer, and Chris Millsap will be the new secretary for the 2020 year.
In addition to the newly elected officers, two new directors will also be joining the 16-member board: Jill Himlie, the owner and designated broker at Windermere Real Estate/Himlie, Inc., and Jeff Pust, the designated broker at Van Dorm Realty, Inc.
As for those who were elected for new terms, both Jason Wall and Chris Millsap will be returning for new terms this year.
