More than $700,000 was raised for scholarships Friday night at Northwest University’s eighth annual President’s Banquet at The Westin Bellevue.
“There were many moments I’ll never forget,” said Joseph Castleberry, Northwest University’s president. “One was seeing the initial number for the night’s yield and knowing it was an increase of $137,000 over the previous year. Then a donor who had already given generously stepped up to me and gave another $22,000 to get us to $700,000. So many donors went beyond what they had promised before the event! The student stories and the choir inspired a spirit of joy in giving and solidarity with our mission that just moved people to do more and more.”
“It’s all about relationship, and there is nothing like having our growing community of donors all under one roof, galvanized to support students who are the next generation of servant leaders making an impact in our world,” added Justin Kawabori, executive director of the Northwest University Foundation.
Those in attendance were treated to a performance by the 120-member choir, Northwest Choralons, and also witnessed Barry and Joan Horn receiving the Northwest University Legacy Award. The event was hosted by Larry Snyder.
