Molly Moon‘s is mixing business with politics and cookie dough.

On Oct. 3, the Seattle based ice cream company with one Eastside location in Redmond, added Hillary Rodham Cookie Dough to its ‘always’ menu. Now it’s a top seller.

“People love it. It is probably our highest sales flavor on the menu right now,” said owner Molly Moon Neitzel.

The ice cream flavor is a twist on Hillary Rodham Clinton’s award winning oatmeal chocolate chip cookie recipe. In a Family Circle bake-off, Clinton’s cookies beat out recipes from Barbara Bush and Elizabeth Dole. At Molly Moons, a version of the cookie dough is mixed in with sweet and spicy vanilla ice cream along with cinnamon, nutmeg and brown sugar.

Hillary Rodham Cookie Dough isn’t Neitzel first flavor in support of a politician. In 2008 and 2012 she sold Baracky Road – a twist on Rocky Road – in her locations. She says she’s always believed in running a business by putting her actions where her values are. Outside of elections, Neitzel is outspoken about offering paid health and dental coverage, higher than minimum wage starting pay, and compostable cups, utensils and other sustainable supplies.

“I’ve never been afraid of taking a stand in what I believe in,” she said. “I’ve also never been so sure that an election is worth speaking up about.”
