Metropolitan Market today announced former chief operations officer, Ron Megahan, has been appointed as the company’s new chief executive officer.
With close to 30 years in the grocery and food industries — two of those years with Met Market — Megahan has dedicated his career to ensuring customer satisfaction and promoting employee success, while also striving to impact growth and expansion.
“The grocery industry is changing rapidly, and Ron possesses the diverse experience and knowledge needed to guide our talented team into the future,” Met Market chairman Terry Halverson said in a statement. “I have no doubt Ron will expand upon the success we’ve seen thus far and I look forward to continuing to provide our customers with the excellent shopping experience they know they can expect from our stores.”
Todd Korman who previously held the position, will continue to be an active shareholder in the company after dedicating 15 years to Met Market. After all, Korman led the company through its most rapid expansion period, opening multiple expansions across the Puget Sound region including the newly opened location in Sammamish.
“Todd skillfully led the team with passion and excitement, and helped to build a company poised for growth,” said Halverson. “It has been a pleasure having him as both a colleague and friend, and we wish him well in all his future endeavors.”
