Kitsap Bank will recognize area small businesses during its edg3 FUND competition, and one will be awarded with a hefty grand prize

Applications currently are being accepted for Kitsap Bank’s small business competition, edg3 FUND (rhymes with hedge fund). Businesses who apply will be competing against other area small businesses for a chance to win a $20,000 grand prize. Applications are being accepted now through Friday, July 28 at 5 p.m.

The edg3 FUND is an annual competition where Kitsap Bank recognizes local entrepreneurs working toward a goal of growing the community economically, socially, and environmentally. For-profit companies can apply online by submitting an application and sharing a two-minute video explaining why the prize would benefit the company.

Public voting will take place after semi-finalists are selected to narrow the search to five finalists. Those five local businesses will pitch themselves at a live event on November 16 during Global Entrepreneurship Week at the Kitsap Conference Center.

And, as if a $20,000 prize wasn’t enough, Kitsap Bank also will be awarding a second prize, the Community edg3 Award; a $5,000 prize to the business that best exemplifies the spirit of community according to the judging panel.
