The Housing Development Consortium (HDC) of Seattle-King County recently awarded the City of Kenmore with a Municipal Champion Award for its leadership in creating affordable housing.

Nominated by A Regional Coalition for Housing (ARCH), Kenmore was recognized for its actions toward creating an affordable community, preserving manufactured housing communities, and working on the Multi-Family Tax Exemption. This award also recognizes Mayor David Baker’s service as co-chair of the Regional Affordable Housing Task Force.

“I am delighted the City is receiving this award and recognition,” Baker said in a release. “The City looks forward to continuing its commitment to meet the housing needs of all community members in partnership with ARCH and the HDC.”

The award will be presented during the virtual city council meeting on July 27.
