Expedia might be moving its headquarters from downtown Bellevue to Seattle.

Seattle Mayor Ed Murray has a press conference scheduled for Thursday morning that will announce a “major publicly traded firm” will relocate its headquarters to Seattle. The Puget Sound Business Journal reported that this firm is Expedia.

According to the PSBJ, Expedia will relocate to Amgen’s Helix campus, which is located on Smith Cove in the Interbay neighborhood.

The move would take 3,000 of Expedia’s employees from downtown Bellevue where the company relocated to in 2007. The company said then the move was convenient for employees.

The move would be a blow to downtown Bellevue. City of Bellevue spokesperson Emily Christensen says the city has “not received any formal announcement on this and therefore do not have a statement at this time.”
