Pre-leasing has begun at the new Waterfront Place Apartments development at the Port of Everett, the first housing developed at the port in its history.
Seattle-based builder SeaLevel Properties and Canada/Washington-based builder/construction company Gracorp are doing the project, situated at 1300 W. Marine View Drive, in two phases. The first, the north building, opens this spring and includes 135 residential units in one- and two-bedroom configurations. It is 35 percent preleased, according to a news release.
Construction of the site’s south building also is advancing. When complete next year, the building will feature 131 residential homes, with a total of 266 units.
The project is in Fisherman’s Harbor at Waterfront Place, next to Hotel Indigo, a 142-room hotel that opened in fall 2019. They’re among a number of projects at the port that includes bolstering shipping activities, increasing public amenities, and driving more economic development in the region.
“Bringing residents to a revitalized Everett waterfront has been a long-time coming for the port and City of Everett — and we’re excited to see our first residential building opening and new residents moving in,” John Shaw, SeaLevel Properties’ director of multifamily acquisitions, said in the release. “This will no doubt build momentum for the port’s broader waterfront vision and will build energy for the port’s next office and residential phase.”
The port’s Waterfront Place is a 1.5 million-square-foot mixed-use development located on 65 acres at the waterfront. At full buildout, the mixed-use development will include 63,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space, 20,000 square feet of marine retail, 447,500 square feet of office, two waterfront hotels, and up to 660 waterfront housing units.
The public-private project is estimated at $550 million.
