Bellevue-based Egencia strives to make business travel easier — and now they enter the realm of wearable technology with new apps for Apple Watch and Android Wear.

Egencia gives users the ability to see their travel companion accounts, settings, and content easily from device to device, allowing them to pick up exactly where they left off.

Without missing a beat, business travelers can now access Egencia applications on mobile, desktop, and now smartwatch devices, for a continuous experience. That’s good news for today’s travelers who, according to Egencia, use an average of three devices while on the go.

The new watch app fits under your sleeve and sends you alerts for all of your travel needs. It provides maps and directions, lists transportation choices, and keeps you up to date on disruptions. You can also contact an Egencia travel consultant with just a tap of the watch.

“Egencia is meeting the demand among business travelers for consumer-quality products. Since we own, develop, and run our own technology, we are able to quickly bring these wearable apps to market based on that demand,” Michael Gulmann, vice president of global product for Egencia, said in a press release. “When travelers are shown a familiar and consumer-like experience, adoption and compliance follow.”

Apps for Apple Watch and Android Wear are now available in the App Store and Google Play, and a hotel update for iOS and Android will roll out later this month. Egencia also has revamped its mobile hotel experience for travelers using iPhone, iPad, and Android devices to improve consistency with the desktop version of the Egencia web site.
