Seattle-based Eddie Bauer is celebrating 100 years of being a staple in the outdoor community and economy.

In its 100th year of business, the company is striving to adequately respond to the COVID-19 pandemic as well as the social justice movement.

In February, the brand launched the One Outside Leaders Team, which seeks to help community leaders and activists further their mission to make the outdoors accessible to all. In March, factory production was shifted from making apparel to N95 masks for Seattle-area frontline workers.

The brand also signed the CEO Diversity Pledge and made commitments to hire additional BIPOC staff at its headquarters in June. In August, when celebrating Sleep Under the Stars Night, festivities were virtual to ensure safety.

This week, Eddie Bauer is launching a special edition line of outerwear in celebration of its centennial.
