EvergreenHealth and Overlake Medical Center recently announced the formation of Eastside Health Alliance, a joint venture the two health systems said will improve coordination of care and improve access for residents of the Eastside.
The two organizations will still be separate entities, but will now have better coordination and access for doctors and patients. The new venture has three goals:
- Collaboration for neuroscience, cardiac, and thoracic surgery services.
- Data sharing through a Coordinated Quality Program (CQP).
- Formation of a single Eastside Clinically Integrated Network (CIN).
“Our organizations share the goal of providing the highest quality, best value, safest and most comprehensive care,” said Overlake president and CEO J. Michael Marsh. “Through this joint venture, we are able to better compete in the ever-changing health care marketplace and benefit from the sharing of best practices, operational efficiencies, enhanced care, and bolstering our organizations’ position as the Eastside’s preferred health care systems.”
Eastside physicians and the Eastside Health Network will share infrastructure expenses and gain population health knowledge while aligning independent physicians across the Eastside for better care coordination.
“Providing our community with access to more highly coordinated sub-specialty care will serve to improve the health and well-being of the entire Eastside,” said EvergreenHealth CEO Robert Malte.
Overlake Medical Center and EvergreenHealth have a history of collaborating, Malte added. The new joint venture will further collaboration between the two.
The joint venture will not impact either organization’s administration, tax exempt status, or governance.
