Three local colleges are partnering to provide better corporate continuing education and training for Eastside businesses and their employees. Lake Washington Institute of Technology, Everett Community College, and Cascadia College form the new Corporate and Continuing Education Center—Eastside, seeking to promote individual, corporate, and community prosperity on the Eastside.

Having partnered for the past three years, Everett and Cascadia have already seen positive results in their professional and continuing education programs. With Lake Washington Institute of Technology joining the partnership, CCEC-Eastside can cater to a wider range of fields, as well as expand its service area to include Kirkland, Bellevue, Issaquah, Redmond, Woodinville, and Bothell.

“We are so pleased to join this collaborative partnership that allows us to expand, accelerate and strengthen our continuing education programs to better meet the needs of professionals in the Eastside community,”  LWTech President Amy Morrison Goings said in a statement.

CCEC-Eastside offers courses in multiple professional fields, including courses such as Project Management, Lean Six Sigma, Leadership, Information Technology and Networking. Many courses are offered after regular business hours, allowing employees access to education while still working at their current place of employment, whether seeking to advance in their field or pursue other interests.

CCEC-Eastside provides more than just education for individuals looking to improve or advance in their field. Employers can contact CCEC-Eastside to connect with newly trained potential employees, and companies such as Vertafore, Terex-Genie, and Boeing already have taken advantage of CCEC-Eastside’s employee professional development programs.

“The partnership increases training and education opportunities to keep the workforce in our community ready for a changing economy,” said EvCC President David Beyer in a statement.
