Two prominent companies have joined the list of event sponsors for the inaugural Blockchain Seattle 2018: Cumberland and Perkins Coie.

“We recognized from the beginning that Cumberland and Perkins Coie needed to be key partners in this effort,” Chris Jones, co-founder of Blockchain Seattle, said in a statement. “They bring exceptional credibility, knowledge, and relationships that will be a huge benefit to our community.”

Cumberland, a trading firm open 24 hours a day, is a global leader in cryptoassets and a subsidiary of DRW.

Perkins Coie is a Seattle-headquartered international law firm that also runs one of the largest blockchain practices in the country. The firm’s Blockchain Technology & Digital Currency group was established in 2013 and has helped shape the industry ever since.

“Seattle is a city rich in innovation,” said Dax Hansen, chair of the Perkins Coie Blockchain and Fintech industry groups. “Perkins Coie is excited to showcase the Blockchain Seattle community to our clients and the industry at large.”

Blockchain Seattle began in 2016 as a way to educate and connect members of the blockchain community. The organization hosts regular meetups and has more than 2,000 members. The first Blockchain Seattle conference, which takes place September 10-11 at the Hyatt Regency in Bellevue, will include five interest-specific tracks, a Developer’s Academy, a Women in Blockchain Breakfast, and a job fair.

New Alchemy and Bloq are also sponsoring the event. Tickets can be purchased here.
