Not sure how to ask your boss for a raise or quiet your chatty coworker? Etiquette expert Arden Clise is here to answer your awkward workplace questions.

Arden CliseQ: How should I deal with a coworker who takes credit for my work?

A: It can be maddening when someone takes credit for your work or idea in the workplace. However, don’t respond publicly; it will make you look petty. Instead, talk to the credit stealer privately and ask him nicely why he took credit for your work. Hopefully he’ll fess up, and you can talk about how to remedy it — such as acknowledge your work in a meeting with your boss. If not, find an ally to mention your efforts on the project to in a team meeting that your boss attends.
