This week, Bellevue-based Apptio announced the addition of Barbara Gordon to the executive leadership team as chief customer officer, and the promotion of Larry Blasko to the position of chief revenue officer.

“With both Barbara’s hire and Larry’s expanded role, I’m excited about continuing to expand our focus on the Global 10,000 and further deepen our commitment to creating wildly successful customers,” CEO Sunny Gupta said in a statement. “Customer success is at the center of everything that Apptio does and these executives will further accentuate that value.”

Blasko joined Apptio in 2009 as vice president of sales and helped develop a new category in information technology: Technology business management.

“Building Technology Business Management (TBM) into a discipline over the past seven years has been one of my proudest business accomplishments,” Blasko said. His new role will involve driving revenue, creating and implementing channel strategy, and ensure excellence in sales. Prior to Apptio, Blasko was vice president of sales for HP Software, senior vice president of sales at Opsware, and Veritas Software. He also was a commissioned officer in the United States Army.

“I am a fanatic about customer success; it is the foundation for every software business. Apptio’s values of going above and beyond to create successful customers was an instant fit for my values,” Gordon said in a statement. “I am also passionate about bringing the best out in people and I am thrilled to be a part of the team.”
