“We didn’t just build the building, we built the whole block,” said Jennifer Peters, an employee of Pillar Properties which built the The Meyden apartment complex in downtown Bellevue, scheduled to be completed mid-February.

Located on the corner of Main Street and Bellevue Way, the five story building houses 254 units ranging from studios to two bedroom apartments. In addition to the living space the The Meyden will also include several retail businesses on the first floor including CVS Pharmacy (it will have a drive-through), Whisk (a gourmet kitchenware shop that will also offer cooking lessons), Belle Pastry, Green Lake Jewelry, Bellevue Barbershop, and a Chinese restaurant by Paul Choi.

According to Peters, most of the new retail clients joining The Meyden are in the same business verticals as companies that once operated on Main Street. A jewelry shop, a barbershop, and a pastry shop all were on the same block 100 years ago. Property manager Laura Jones said people are eager to move into the new space. Prospective tenants also are coming from all over, out of state and out of the country, but typically working for local companies.

The Meyden will have 10 full-time employees. Rent ranges from $1,385-$1,680 for studio apartments, $1,860-$2,130 for one bedrooms, and $2,686-$3,281 for two bedrooms. See all the floor plans and pricing online.
