Nearly 60 local nonprofit organizations from around the region gathered yesterday at Amazon’s Seattle headquarters to share their missions with Amazon employees. The event mirrored last year’s event, which drew more than 1,000 employees.
The overarching goal of the expo was to strengthen the region by connecting Amazon employees to the community through direct involvement with area nonprofits, according to a statement from Amazon. The expo — hosted by Amazon and Seattle Foundation — provided Amazon a way to show its employees how they can give back to their community, and for the nonprofits to share volunteer opportunities.
Nonprofits in attendance included Mary’s Place, Team Read, and Washington STEM, to name a few.
