  5. Let her learn something new: Speaking of gardens, give mom the morning off to inhale some calming, aromatic herbs. Beginning at 10 a.m. on May 13, visit Molbaks Garden + Home and learn about growing, and utilizing those same plants to produce sugar scrubs, powders, fragrant mists, and other herbal care items.
  6. So much brunch: Salty’s raises the bar when it comes to brunch year-round. Also, look for your favorite restaurants doing brunch or special mom’s day menus like Carmines in Bellevue and Duke’s Chowder House in various locations. Brunch at The Melting Pot with their complimentary mimosas will melt mom’s heart. Make sure you make your reservations now. Or make your mom her favorite food or dessert at home!
  7. Take her on a picnic: Get goodies at your local Whole Foods Market or Metropolitan Market deli, grab a giant blanket, pack a portable music player, and head to your favorite park with the family. Hint: A selection of delicious cheeses, crackers, and olives are a winning combo.
  8. Give her something handmade: Visit a local Haggen Northwest Fresh location from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. on May 13 so your child can decorate a jumbo cupcake for mom’s special day. Meanwhile, dad can visit a Home Depot location starting at 10 a.m. on May 13 to learn how to repair damaged drywall, and smooth on the perfect shade of paint to ultimately surprise mom with a refreshed room or a repaired nick from that time the kids played baseball in the house.
  9. Send her to the spa: Pamper mom with a spa day. Gene Juarez Salons & Spas are helping you out with some specials to make mom swoon and say you are her favorite kid. Or take her to get manis and pedis and an afternoon of gossip.
  10. Music to her ears: There are still tickets for concerts at Marymoor Park this summer and at Chateau Ste. Michelle winery in Woodinville. Buy tickets and make it a date.
